Cathy Canty

Ms. Canty received her Master’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Oklahoma, and has over 20 years of experience in the environmental field, specializing in regulatory compliance, permitting, Globally Harmonized Systems for Hazardous Communications compliance, resource management, third party auditing, and environmental assessments compliance. Specific activities also include NEPA project management, ISO 14001 audits, coordinating and managing regulatory compliance, facility reviews , air, water, and solid waste permitting, along with other federal and state regulatory issues.

Ms. Canty's applicable experience includes:

  • Environmental project management, including storm water pollution prevention plan development, sustainability projects, approval of chemicals for building entry from an environmental and GHS perspective and implementation for Hitachi Vantar's global requirements.
  • Storm water pollution prevention plan development for an extensive array of clients (e.g., quarries, concrete and asphalt companies, solid waste, computer manufacturing, and construction companies).
  • Water quality permitting, monitoring, and reporting for compliance purposes in Oklahoma,Texas, Louisiana, and Kansas.
  • Tier two reporting
  • Air Emission inventory compliance and Air Permitting.
  • TRI Permitting, universal waste compliance, hazardous waste compliance.
  • Served on the DEQ Water Quality Management Advisory Council for over 10 years.
  • ISO 14001 environmental auditing and compliance, where she assesses, designs and implements effective environmental management systems. She also performs ISO QMS/EMS project reviews and ISO environmental compliance reviews. She is a certified RABQSA auditor.
  • Sustainability assessments and implementation projects where pollution prevention, waste reduction, reuse and recycling are the prime objectives. Projects include storm water management, greenhouse gas emission reductions, landfill waste reduction, compliance with European and Japanese environmental standards and heavy metal wastewater management.

Geoff Canty

Dr. Geoff Canty received his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from the University of Oklahoma, specializing in water quality, aquatic chemistry, and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). He has over 20 years of experience in the environmental arena including NEPA, environmental remediation, biological and environmental assessments, field and laboratory methodology, project
management, impact assessment, air and water quality permitting, and impoundment design. He worked for the Oklahoma Conservation Commission – Water Quality Division for over 7 years where he served in a variety of capacities including QA/QC coordinator, Project Manager, and State of Oklahoma Wetlands Coordinator. He has also authored several peer reviewed journal articles related to
NEPA, water quality, and remediation topics.

Mr. Canty's applicable experience includes:

  • Initiating a novel hydrologic modeling and mitigation effort for the evaluation of post-development scenarios on a unique oxbow lake in southern Oklahoma. He oversaw implementation of best management practices to reduce the impact of nutrients and sediment on the receiving system.
  • Designing and managing the mitigation and annual monitoring associated with a Corps of Engineers Section 404 permitted riparian restoration along the North Branch of Quartermaster Creek associated with the reconstruction of SH-35 in Custer County, OK for ODOT.
  • Managing, designing and implementing the restoration and enhancement of 1 mile of an urban stream corridor in Norman, OK. Design included creation and protection of marsh and swamp ecosystems to improve stream morphology, water quality, aesthetics and wildlife habitat.
  • Directing environmental studies and preparation of NEPA documents for over 50 ODOT/FHWA funded state and county transportation projects located throughout Oklahoma.
  • Serving as the Environmental Manager to conduct environmental studies and prepare an EA involving Section 4(f)6(f) issues for the runway and taxiway extension for Thomas P. Stafford Airport under the Federal Aviation Administration.
